NINO & NAZAR CLOSE THE BOSFOR…

NINO & NAZAR CLOSE THE BOSFOR AFTER GEORGE BUSH AND VINAS WILLIAMS
THE DUET WAS BORN ON THE GROUND BETWEEN BETWEEN EUROPE AND ASIA

“By the Bosfor they make a big noise…” and the occasion is an exceptional case of precedent. The famous bridge Boaz Koprusu which connects Asia and Europe was closed for the first time to shoot the video for Two Souls (in Bulgarian Dve Dushi), Nino & Nazar’s new single. The song is performed by Dimitar Kolev – Nazar who is a Bulgarian musician and Nino Gamgoneishvily – Koleva, a Georgian opera singer. The closing took place for the third time. Such an event took place in 1979 when tennis players Vinas Williams and Ipek Senoglu played a game for the Eurasian Marathon, then when american president Jeorge Bush held his famous speech and when Formula 1 pilot David Coulthard set a record. Why did Istambul’s mayor Mr. Kadir Topbash and Mr. Ismail, head of Bosfor’s douane, give the duet such an honour?

DIMITAR KOLEV CONTRIBUTED HIS 5,000 $ MUSIC AWARD FROM THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL IN TURKEY 2001 TO THE PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED A RECENT EARTHQUAKE

The performer from Bulgaria who has a successful career since 10 years and 2 own albums, represented Serbia in the Istambul International Festival 2001. Dimitar Kolev alias Chocho won the silver statuette, the prestigeous second award with his song I Have Dreamed. He immediately gave his 5,000 $ award to all people who suffered the earthquake in Istambul which destroyed a big part of the city. The Turkish press and namely the newspaper Millet with a circulation of 450 million copies gave Dimitar Kolev the peudonium Nazar and called him the Bulgarian Tarkan.

FAMILY DUET NINO & NAZAR LIVED THE ANCIENT SHEHERESADA STORY IN A MODERN WAY
After the festival grand concert Dimitar walked to see the landmarks of Istambul as he accidentaly spotted Nino in front of the Saint Sofia church. The Bulgarian performer did not even suspect that a Georgian Monsarat Kabalier stood infront of him. Nino herself flew from Georgia’s capital Tbilisi to Istambul because she did not want to be kidnapped and married against her will in her own country. The Bulgarian performer was fascinated by the beauty of the royal family Voznesensky’s heiress. He bearly managed to give her his name card.
Few months later Nino went to Bulgaria where her mother was invited as a guest-musician in the Opera of the city of Plovdiv. Remembering about Dimitar, she decided to call him. A short-term pure friendship followed, then a happy marriage and so a marvelous music duet was born. They still dreamed to have their debute on the music scene and to perform their Mendelson sonate on the spot where Europe and Asia meet and where their both lifes flew together.

TWO SOULS FLEW TOGETHER WHERE TWO CONTINENTS MEET

Nino & Nazar came out on the music scene with their single Two Souls. The video was shot in Istambul on Boaz Koprusu bridge thanks to the major of the city which has a population of 16 million people. The major made an extraordinary act of honour of the duet. Dimitar Kolev who was considered the Bulgarian Tarkan met the major in the most famous show in Turkey, The Show of Seda Sayan. The major Kadir Topbash was touched by Nino & Nazar’s love story and so he made what was considered impossible. On October 26, 2008 he closed the bridge above the Bosfor. Such an event took place for the first time for an art project to be accomplished. Despite the storm which arose right during the shootings of the video, Nino & Nazar managed to shoot the gothic ballad Two Souls. That song and the video tell a real story about the love of two people who met on the spot where Asia and Europe, their two continents, meet.

It is interesting tahat the first public presentation of Two Souls in New Year’s eve was made again under Boaz Koprusu, at the same spoy where the video of the song was shoot two months earlier. Nino & Nazar were invited by the company Karaja Tours to perform on the ship which coasted under the bridge in the New Year’s eve. The song is an original ethno - gothic style with a baladic and fascinating sound.
